Peter Zhelezo, also known as Peter Bekkerman, was born in 1947 in Chisinau (Kishinev), the capital of Moldova, and has resided in the United States since 1977. A professional mechanical engineer, he has gained recognition within the Russian-speaking community of New Jersey and New York State as a singer, songwriter, and producer of gala concerts and theatrical productions. After immigrating to the United States, Peter established himself as an enterprising and successful businessman, yet he never relinquished his passion for music and storytelling.
Peter’s personal life encompassed certain events for which he sought closure. Like his compatriot, renowned producer Andrei Konchalovsky, author of a confessional novel titled “Low Truths,” Peter decided to address these matters through a novel. His debut work, “Oh, Those Glorious Moments! (Sex, Love and Fantasy),” was published in New York in 2004 and provoked some readers with the raw candor of the author’s disclosures.
The spirited discussions surrounding this somewhat controversial book persisted when the author was inspired to compose a new novel. He fully immersed himself in unraveling the pivotal events and enigmatic drama of its romantic narrative.
